TRAINING
Advanced Open
Water
Five different scenarios, five ocean dives in which you will face something new. Get challenged, descend deeper, dive at night, let yourself go with the current… Hands down, the AOW is a very attractive course.
And best of all, you learn by diving: practice prevails over theory. You will do five training dives that will take you a little further by confronting you with new situations that seemed to limit you before, or by testing you with technical tasks, such as searching for and recovering an object. At the end of the course, you will feel like a more experienced diver, which will boost your confidence.
Be certified as an OWD
Minimum age: 15 years old (12 years old for Junior AOW)
All courses are based on the student’s progress, so there is no maximum time. At Mar Adentro we give personalized attention, so an average of 3 days is enough to complete it satisfactorily.
It consists of five training dives. Two of them are mandatory: Underwater Navigation and Deep Diving (at 30 meters). The other three are of the student’s choice. Given the conditions of Costa Maya, our suggestions include:
* Fish identification: Have you seen a fish you don’t know yet? Great, give it a name.
* Multilevel diver. Learn how to optimize your valuable bottom time.
* Night dive. Enjoy an unsuspected aspect of the reef while you feel like on the moon.
* Buoyancy development. Control your depth changes using only your lungs.
* Search and recovery. Lost something at the bottom? No problem.
If you feel that signing up for an Advanced course is too much for your vacation, you can complete the 5 adventure dives of the course a little at a time. And with only 3 dives, you get the Adventure Diver certification!
Our teaching system allows you to join dives at your convenience. Do you want to feel the narcosis of deep diving? Do you prefer to make a list of the fish in your area? It’s up to you to decide.
